UNIVERSITY SURVEYS WIDOWS/CHILDREN OF SERVICEMEMBERS.

WASHINGTON -- The following information was released by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers:

Mississippi State University launched a national survey of Chapter 35 students during spring semester 2010. The survey is designed to assess how well the Dependents' Educational Assistance (DEA) chapter 35 program addresses the educational and training needs of Chapter 35 enrollees at schools, colleges, and universities across the nation. The survey is Internet-based. Chapter 35 currently enrolls approximately 81,000 students. The survey will not focus on or "evaluate" individual institutions. Chapter 35 enrollees' participation will be voluntary.

The University is offering the confidential survey in cooperation with its Social Sciences Research Center (www.ssrc.msstate.edu) and the G. V. "Sonny" Montgomery Center for America's Veterans. Founded in 1982, The Research Center has conducted over 300 local, regional, national and international surveys. For more information, contact Dr. Melinda Pilkinton (pilkinton@soc.msstate.edu) or at the Social Work Program, 662-325-7874.
